Hot game: Assassin's Creed II

The makers of the Assassin's Creed series have never seized to amaze us. A year or so ago, the first game of the series (Assassin's Creed) came out. It was all the rage, everyone was talking about how amazing it was. From the beautiful graphics, to the straightforward action -- including climbing and free running. Assassin's Creed was in one word, "Awesome!"

Nothing like sneaking up to someone and stabbing them with your wrist blade.

So, this past week in gaming Assassin's Creed II came out. Of course, it HAD to live up to it's predecessor's success. Which, in my own opinion, it even exceeded it's success.

Let's get down to business; the main critique of the first game was that the game play was repetitive. Which, in Assassin's Creed II since the game is more woven into the story, it directly affects the missions, making them more interesting to do.

Second, there are quite a few new features such as swimming, pick pocketing, and apparently you now get a villa to go to when you don't want to stab someone in the face. Read the whole (p)review here.

Overall, the game has been immensely improved from the last one. And I can't wait to play it.

I give this game, 10 dutch martial artists out of 10!

Hot game: Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time

Get a FREE Playstation 3!

Is it bad that I've never played Ratchet & Clank? LOL! Well, recently Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time released, with a lot of hype, and a lot of good reviews.. I decided to put it on my hot list! So let's get started with this article.

As usual, the two main characters are Ratchet and Clank, I believe you mostly play as Ratchet, trying to find Clank. And Clank does all the alternative/side missions. The game has a lot of humor added to it, unlike other games trying to base themselves on realism, this series of games just tries to let you have fun and get a good laugh.

Most of the game, you will just be following the story of quests, and be blowing up your enemies to tiny bits with a range of weapons. However, this A Crack in Time, you are able to manipulate time itself.

The big baddy that you are trying to defeat is an old boss that has been in previous games, his name is Insomniac, he hates all organic life, and is trying to take them out. Which also brings another side to the story, Ratchet's race, the Lombax, are facing threat and Ratchet needs to figure out how to change the fate of his own race.

So how does the game actually play? Well it's nothing really new, but it is a hit on the head with the old fun gameplay and humorous characters that it has always had.

Read a great review of the game here.

I give this game, 5 fireballs out of 5!

Hot game: Bayonetta

Get a FREE Playstation 3!

I have been hearing LOADS on Bayonetta, sadly, it's only released in Japan right now, but will soon come to America. So, let's check out why it's on my hot game list.

Bayonetta is an action game, featuring a witch who I believe has amnesia and cannot remember anything, even why there are enemies attacking her.. but she continues to fight. Bayonetta wields dual handguns, and she also is able to use kicks, and spells to defeat her enemies. The game is directed by the popular Hideki Kamiya, who also directed Devil May Cry.

One thing I find extremely interesting, but really am confused on how it works, is that her hair is her body suit. The concept is interesting, and when she performs some spells, she is completely naked, because her hair just flies all over the place. Sexy, but still am confused on how it all works; her suit looks like leather but it's hair? Or maybe it's just partially hair. Okay, I am off on a tangent, back to the review!

Judging by the demo, the game is extremely fast paced but they made it user friendly, you can alter the difficult on a per level basis, and there is endless continues. I am not sure if there is combos, but I don't think they are hard to execute. Not only is the game user friendly, but it's sexy, graphics wise. Everything is detailed, and nothing is out of place, not even her hair! Thank you HD gaming.

So, the hype is right, the game is going to be great when it comes out, the reviews are already raving in Japan!

I give the game, 5 goldfish out of 5.

Okay, so just a few weeks ago, Borderlands came out for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and will soon be released to the PC (in which case my friends want me to buy it).

I haven't played it, but would like to give a review based on the cover, the gameplay videos, and other reviews I have read. So far, the game has gotten all good reviews. In one review, I read that the game's graphics were very fluid, and looked great. The cell shading was not overdone (unlike other games). I also have heard the game is mostly multiplayer, needing teams to defeat bosses and things like that.

I also heard that this is the real Diablo-esque FPS (see: Hellgate London) and that is has some features reminiscent to that game. For instance, the more people you have, the bosses and levels get a lot harder.

Moving on, now we will talk about skills and guns. From reading reviews, there are lots and lots of guns (YAY) and there are skills you can get for your player, much like an MMO. Each set of skills completely changes how you play the game, but you may need to rely on your FPS skills to get through the game.

There are different enemies, varying in big sizes and small sizes, all of which are crazy and act crazy (especially when you watch the trailer); I notice the game takes on kind of a grungy carnival look.. at least that's what I would call it.

Also, the game is extremely fast paced. And you can also find loot.. in which case it's kind of like WoW where you have to divvy it up and all that bullshit. awards this game 9 out of 10 unicorns fighting robot dolphins.
